We have reached our goal!!
To date, we have received a total of $275,000 in donations.
Thank you to all that have contributed to the success of the initial fund-raising campaign.
The projects that we have completed include: repairs to the exterior north wall to repair damage as the result of water infiltration and install measures to prevent any further damage; refinishing of the wood dance / shuffleboard courts to ensure longevity and a proper on-going playable surface; a re-painting of most of the public spaces to brighten up and refresh the spaces; and upgrading of the lighting in the facility to energy efficient light fixtures to provide better lighting and control; refurbishment of the Hall bar to improve appearance and functionality; the addition of sound attenuation baffles in the Hall; the procurement of a storage container to assist in the re-organization of stored materials; exterior gas line upgrades; and the addition of various storage solutions in the Lounge and the Lounge bar.
We continue to seek donations to our building fund that will help us to offset the expected costs of various projects intended to keep our facility a viable space for all that may wish to use it and that will allow RCL Branch #176 Forest to carry out the Royal Canadian Legion’s mission of remembrance and community support.
The future projects that we are considering include replacement of aged equipment in the kitchen; masonry repairs at various exterior locations; replacement of some vinyl flooring and carpeting; and parking lot re-paving.
The monies donated will be used to cover the costs related to professional services, and materials and labour to be supplied and installed by qualified contractors for the projects.
Public recognition will be given for any donation of $50.00.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 176 is establishing a new to program to acknowledge and pay tribute to veterans of Lambton Shores and surrounding communities. Memorial banners will be hung on the lamp posts in the Municipality from Legion Week in September until just after the November 11th Remembrance Ceremony on a yearly basis.
The dimensions of the banners will be 21” X 39” and price is $175.00. The Banner will have a picture of deceased veteran, name, unit, date of birth & date of death and hopefully sponsors name.
Anyone wishing to honour a deceased veteran would need to send a good quality digital photo of the veteran in uniform and the completed order form to forestlegionbanners@execulink.com.
Please click the "Download" link below to access the order form.
Payment can be made by cheque at the Branch or by mail:
