During a recent Executive Meeting, Sergeant at Arms - Ken Parsons, was awarded a rare and distinguished honour. He received the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM), which according to legion representatives, is the highest honour available to legion members.
An MSM is awarded by Dominion Command, and is based on 12 criteria, including length of membership, service officer duties, organizing activities on behalf of veterans and their dependents, and assisting with the annual poppy campaign, among others.
We would like to congratulate Ken and thank him for his many years of exemplary service to Br. 176 Legion.
On Sunday, August 29th, Bill Fraser, Ross Atkinson and Mac Webster were 3 of the recipients presented with a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medallion in recognition of their volunteer service to their community. Bill for his years of service with the Legion, Ross with Lambton Shores Nature Trails and Mac for his service at the Curling Club.
We would also like to congratulate Ward Burr, Ruth Illman, Everett Moons, Ken Parsons, Chris Ravell, Joan Rawlings and Glen Starkey who were recipients of the Queens Platinum Jubilee Medallions for Volunteer Service.
